The past few weeks we have engaged in a trade calendar with Stuttgart, Cologne, Frankfurt and Düsseldorf, and we have participated in IMEX16 in Frankfurt and the Costa Brava Girona Convention Bureau roadshow in Cologne and Stuttgart
The starting point of the actions that the Costa Brava Girona Convention Bureau aimed to bring to the German market was a busy trade agenda in the cities of Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Cologne and Dusseldorf. West Germany has a strong business community and a large number of agencies working in the MICE sector.
The diverse range of our MICE tourism options, coupled with the possibility of creating highly attractive incentive travel programmes in different settings with a surprise factor was very enthusiastically embraced as a worthwhile option by the groups that are seeking an alternative destination to the large European cities.
The second major event in the German market was the IMEX fair in Frankfurt, one of the most important in the sector, where we found out first-hand that there is real interest in our destination, along with sound knowledge of the region. At the fair events there were business requests to schedule groups in the Costa Brava and Pyrenees of Girona.
The actions in the German market during these first six months of the year closed with a roadshow in Cologne and Stuttgart. Roadshows are a great system because our members can engage in direct contact with agencies in the sector via the workshops. The restaurants Es Portal in Pals and La Plaça in Madremanya were in charge of with offering an outstanding selection of gastronomic products from our region
