The Costa Brava was the location chosen for the 1st Catalan Fishing Congress, hosted by the recently opened Hotel L’Azure in Lloret de Mar

Over a 100 representatives from the small-scale fishing sector participated actively in the programme’s activities, which were held in the new hotel’s Circus and Studio rooms.

The event’s programme included speakers from government and the academic world, who shared their views on issues related with food justice and locally-sourced products. The goal of this first event was to put in motion a participation process to identify and agree on common needs.

The congress was an initiative proposed by the fishermen themselves, who commissioned the event’s organisation and production to a company that is a member of the Costa Brava Girona Convention Bureau, Atelier Esdeveniments.
