In May, Girona Conference Centre hosted almost five thousand attendees in different public and private events.
This figure places the city’s conference activity at levels reminiscent of those seen before the pandemic. This recovery has taken place in record time since containment measures were lifted, thanks to the city’s draw as a conference destination, Girona Conference Centre’s excellent facilities and the customer service provided by its staff, as well as the continuous promotion and marketing work carried out.
More than 20 days of conference activity
The month began with the 33rd Congress of the Catalan Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SCCOT), which brought together 420 professionals from all over Catalonia. Before that, the Girona Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBGI) drew 150 professionals working in research. Next, a series of private events filled the Conference Centre’s calendar and the different rooms where activities could take place simultaneously.
Events run by different organisations, including the Bonastruc ça Porta Awards ceremony organised by the College of Physicians and Girona Provincial Council’s Valors Awards, followed by the first international congress of the year organised by the University of Girona, the Michele Taruffo Girona Evidence Week, and not forgetting a whole series of private business events all took place in an intense calendar of activities that ran in parallel with a programme of large concerts at Girona Auditorium.
During the next few months, various confirmed conferences will be taking place, as well as smaller corporate and social events.
