For 20 years now, camper van lovers have been flocking to La Ballena Alegre en masse just before the start of each season. Organised by the flagship brand itself, Volkswagen dedicates a weekend to emblematic camper vans of all ages and styles, showcasing them and inviting its customers to participate in a fun and festive atmosphere at the campsite’s facilities, where they are also welcome to stay, either in their own vehicles or in the bungalows. More than 1,000 vans and 4,000 people were present at the latest rally to pique their curiosity about the brand’s innovations, such as the new ID. Buzz electric van, Buzz, and enjoy activities such as sailing, themed food trucks or barbecues for more than 3,000 people, plus concerts like the one this year featuring Macaco, among many other activities.

F18 World Championship 2024

Support for the sport of sailing with the F18 World Championship

For its part, together with the International Sailing Federation and the Spanish Sailing Federation, La Ballena Alegre Sailing Club has organised the F18 World Championship, attracting participants from all over the world. Sant Pere beach and the Gulf of Roses, where the club is located, are much appreciated for the wind that blows there, and the place is packed with boats and participants during the fifteen-day competition, and even weeks before and after the event. Up to 134 boats competed in the last edition, with a total of 512 participants and their professional entourage hailing from 24 countries on 5 continents, including New Zealand. An event that demonstrates the organisational capacity of this establishment and its commitment to water sports, among other disciplines.

Motivational business conventions like Factorial

The Catalan startup Factorial is a good example. Headquartered in Barcelona and dedicated to Human Resources software, it is considered one of the unicorns of the Spanish market (startups valued at over one billion euros). The multinational has also chosen La Ballena Alegre to hold its annual convention, with more than 1,000 attendees (employees from all over Europe). They were accommodated in the campsite’s 315 bungalows for three days, and a large tent was set up for presentations and conferences and to reward the work teams. They also took part in teambuilding activities, enjoyed excursions along the marshlands on the campsite’s electric bicycles, and were able to make some visits to the region, including a trip to the Dalí Museum in Figueres.
