For the second year running, the Costa Brava and the Girona Pyrenees business tourism sector has been present at the Confec Red workshop, held in Venice from 2 to 5 February.

Representatives from the Costa Brava Girona Convention Bureau, Lloret Convention Bureau and Peralada Resort took part in one of the UK and Ireland’s leading MICE events to present the Girona province’s offer to professional event planners from specialised agencies, businesses and associations from these markets that are looking for alternative destinations to hold their events and meetings in.

During the workshop we held 21 interviews with 19 agencies and companies from the UK and Ireland with great potential in the event management sector. These interviews gave rise to business requests to host product presentations, conventions and other types of MICE events.

The offer presented by the Costa Brava and the Girona Pyrenees was very well received at a time when agencies appreciate alternative destinations to big European cities.

The British and Irish buyers also showed interest in the surprising experiences and spectacular venues options and in the chance to present the destination as a complementary proposal to Barcelona.
