Museums at night, when not open to the public, are highly versatile places in which to organise exclusive group activities and are ideal sites for a professional meeting programme.
This innovative format offers many attractive options for giving participants an intense, exclusive cultural experience.
Culture and gin & tonic nights
This summer two heritage sites in the city of Girona –the Episcopal Palace and the former Hospital of Santa Caterina– have organised private night-time gatherings. Attendees can enjoy a guided visit to discover hidden-away secrets and stories and round the visit off with a gin and tonic in the open air. This is a joint initiative of Girona Art Museum, Mosca Tours and Nut.
The Episcopal Palace is home to the Girona Art Museum and has an interesting collection of works of art from Girona Province, from the Romanesque period to the present day. Elsewhere, the former Hospital of Santa Caterina –which is over 350 years old– offers a visit to one of the few historical hospital pharmacies conserved in its original setting and has a magnificent collection of antique ceramic pots.
Dalí exclusively
The incoming travel agency from the Girona area, Fil Mediterranean Travel Designers, has organised exclusive night-time visits to the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres for company groups from two major multinational companies. It is a true luxury to stroll through the “world’s largest surrealist object” and admire the work of the genius Dalí at one’s own pace.
