Palamós has the sea as a reference for its own existence. The sea has written its history, given meaning and vocation to its trades and has imprinted the character of its cuisine, traits that are evident in any business meeting held in the municipality.

Capella del Carme | 100 | 70 |
The church, built between 1768 and 1771 by the master builder Miquel Basart, has a single nave. It has two side chapels and a rectangular apse, and housed the image of the Virgin of Mount Carmel, owned by priest Miquel Costa. The bombings of the Civil War demolished the hospital but left the chapel almost intact. In 1999 the chapel became municipal property. The remodeling of the building began in 2008, and today it is the headquarters of the Ezequiel Torroella Art Space and the Local Heritage Interpretation Center. It has a capacity for seventy people and consists of a platform.
