This initiative, promoted by the Girona City Convention Bureau and Palau de Congressos de Girona, brings together agents from the city of Girona’s MICE sector to coordinate the promotion of the city as a leading business tourism destination.
Professionals from the city’s hotel sector, restaurants, tourist guides, shops and other businesses and organisations involved in business tourism meet every month with the aim of working together to attract more events and promote new tourist products that can aid the rapid recovery of the sector’s activity.
Cohesion among the region’s tourist destinations, digital transformation –with the incorporation of new hybrid and virtual formats into the range of MICE options– and international positioning are some of the elements that will contribute towards building the city of Girona’s prestige as a congress and business tourism destination.
The action coincides with Girona Conference Centre’s 15th anniversary, at a time when companies in the business tourism sector have been seriously affected by the pandemic, due to all the restrictions. The programme for the anniversary celebrations includes commemorative events marking 15 years of the venue’s congress activity.
