The Annual Meeting and 11th General Assembly of the Lloret Convention Bureau members was held in person again at Hotel L’Azure, which recently celebrated the first anniversary of its inauguration.
Some seventy members and partner organisations of the Lloret Convention Bureau, such as the Catalunya Convention Bureau and the Costa Brava Girona Convention Bureau, attended the event to take stock of activities carried out in 2021 and learn about the action plan for this year.
Despite some restrictions still in place due to the pandemic, 2021 started with a gradual recovery of MICE activity in Lloret de Mar, with national and international events such as the World Sports Tourism Congress, with more than 600 participants. Regarding the corporate events segment, the town hosted more than 60 conventions, workshops and meetings organised by well-known multinational companies from various sectors.
The Bureau’s action plan for this year focuses on establishing a positioning strategy for the associations market with a specific marketing plan in cities such as Malaga and Valencia, and on organising its own roadshow in the French market.
With the support of their members, the Lloret Convention Bureau and Costa Brava Girona Convention Bureau work together on promotional actions to attract events to the region and to respond to the needs of event planners searching for authentic locations as an alternative to the large European cities.
