Centre Cultural la Mercè

Built in the fourteenth century, this former convent was used as a military hospital in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. It has housed a multidisciplinary cultural centre for performing arts, arts and humanities since 1984. It is also used as a unique venue for welcome cocktails, receptions, etc.

The auditorium is located in the convent’s former church and features a Gothic-style layout and polychrome wooden ceiling. The space is equipped with a 70 m2 stage (10 m wide and 7 m deep) with lighting and sound equipment. The room provides excellent acoustics with theatre seating in the stalls and pit.

The cloister forms the building’s main axis. The central area of the cloister is landscaped and the side areas are ideal for using for catering or as an exhibition space.

The multipurpose room can be adapted to different uses and features a PA system, projection screen, platform and speakers’ table. A large Gothic arch dominates the room, which can be entered from the cloister.
