Figueres, the capital of Alt Empordà, is an outstanding destination for holding conferences and meetings. It is less than an hour from Barcelona and only 20 minutes from France and the Mediterranean. In addition to its excellent geographical location and transport connections, it also offers exceptional culture, gastronomy and landscapes, as well as a wide range of suitable venues for holding conferences and meetings.
EL JARDÍ THEATRE
El Jardí Theatre is Figueres’ principal performance space, seating an audience of almost one thousand. Following a complete refurbishment in 1991 that maintained its original heritage character and Art Nouveau style, today the theatre boasts all the necessary technical facilities to host all types of cultural activities and events.
LA CATE
The rationalist building of the Patronat de la Catequística’s (La Cate) auditorium, designed by architect Emili Blanch and recognised as a cultural asset of national interest (BCIN), underwent a comprehensive renovation in 2011 to install the necessary technical facilities to host all types of small and medium-format cultural activities and events with capacity for 300 people.
CAPUTXINS AUDITORIUM
Figueres’ former Capuchin convent (18th century) has been fully renovated, converting it into a new performance space and conference venue with all the latest technical facilities since its reopening in 2015. Ideal for holding small and medium-format activities and events, the auditorium has 200 retractable seats which enable it to also be used as an open multipurpose space.
SANT FERRAN CASTLE
Sant Ferran Castle in Figueres is the largest 18th-century fortress in Europe. It is open to the public as a historical monument, but also offers superb spaces for holding events and meetings, with spacious rooms and spectacular outdoor settings. Added to this are its links with the city, the economic and service epicentre, its strategic geographical location and transport connections, and multiple cultural, commercial and gastronomic attractions.
