The Municipal Theatre in Roses welcomed a hundred participants from all over the country, including both specialists and affected families.
The Catalan Moebius Syndrome Association, which organised the event, evaluated the experience very positively and its president, Anna M. Expósito, announced the association’s intention to come back to Roses for its second congress.
The congress programme included keynote lectures, short talks and a round table where different clinical aspects of the condition and the outlook for the future were discussed. There was also a meeting point where specialists could deal with queries from the attending families and specialists.
The congress successfully achieved its aim to raise awareness of this rare neurological condition, with only 225 cases registered in the whole country, and to provide a meeting point for specialists from different fields, healthcare providers and affected families.
