The Costa Brava Girona Convention Bureau’s assembly met to review the activities of 2021 and plan those to be carried out in 2022.
The actions proposed are mainly addressed to the Spanish, French, Nordic and UK markets and revolve around the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board’s four strategic lines: sustainability, digitalisation, identity and interrelation with the sector.
Among the activities planned for this year are the Automotive Events Costa Brava project, aimed at exploring and harnessing the potential of the automotive segment as a user of the destination’s business tourism services.
This initiative is aligned with the Catalunya Convention Bureau’s Meetings & Automotion project and consists of diverse actions to be carried out during the year, including among them the conceptualisation of the new Automotive Events Costa Brava catalogue.
For the group of managers attending the assembly, various actions have been prepared throughout the year, including a promotional action in Lyon for people from French companies.
Also, in the city of Lyon, a workshop will be held for local event planners.
Promotion of the region’s business tourism services and facilities will once again take place face-to-face at trade fairs such as IBTM in Barcelona and workshops organised by third parties, including the M&I Forum Spring Europe in Seville at the beginning of May.
Likewise, this year sees the long-awaited return of familiarisation trips (fam trips), two of which have already taken place. The first was conducted in collaboration with AMEX Meetings and Events and Hotel Camiral & PGA Catalunya Resort, and the second was held jointly with the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board’s (PTCBG) Premium Club and Mas de Torrent Hotel & Spa.
The Costa Brava Girona Convention Bureau will be working in concert with other entities in the sector and with the support of its members to promote actions aimed at attracting event management firms to the region and responding to the needs of event planners looking for locations for their proposals.
